A Glimpse At Our Past

The Rural Municipality of Grayson, being bordered on the south side by the Qu’Appelle Valley, can trace its history far back as a popular place of the Plains Indians.

Later in the 1800’s it played an important part of the fur trade era. At the end of that time there was a period when horse ranching took place to raise re-mounts for the French Army. Shortly after, the CPR crossed the prairies. There was a large influx of settlers homesteading on the land. They came from all over Europe and Eastern Canada. As a result, we still have a very wide cross section of nationalities in the area.
