A Hidden Treasure

Well worth the search, the Rural Municipality of Grayson No. 184 has a population of approximately 550 permanent residents. It has within its boundaries four villages, namely Grayson, Waldron, Killaly, and Dubuc. It also is responsible for the administration of five hamlet resorts.

Sunset Beach, Moose Bay, Exner's Twin Resort, and Lakeside Beach are all along the Crooked Lake in the Qu'Appelle Valley. Sunset Beach Resort and Cedar Cove Resort are two businesses in Sunset Beach and Moose Bay respectively. Both resort businesses have convenience stores and other services for the lake people whether they are cottage owners or tourists.

The Valley supplies many recreational activities such as fishing (winter and summer), water activities, hunting, and relaxation. The Cowessess First Nations No. 73 runs the Last Oaks Golf Course and also have a Mini-Mall on their reserve in the valley. In addition to our lakeside entertainment, the Village of Grayson, the largest of our communities, is noted for the famous (and delicious) Ottenbreit's sausage.
